Why do you think the Driver series failed, while GTA succeeded? Do you think Driver is a GTA rip-off?
Personally I liked Driver 3 but I did not like the sequel, Parallel Lines. I think I probably know the answer, but I would like to see some opinions. When I say failed, I mean the PS2, XBOX and PC series had poor reveiws and was given a pretty low score on websites like Gamespot and IGN.
Yes I realize that Driver was made first, but the makers noticed the succes of the GTA series and somewhat copied the formula.
I think the modern drivers are rip offs of gta however driver 2 started the whole sandbox genre. gta 3 simply perfected the genre. You see driver 3 just saw the success of gta and decided they wanted to do this. but they couldnt. i fear gta 4 may fail in the next gen just like driver failed in the last gen.
