Weird fix for high pitched amp whine?
I've isolated the high pitched whine to be coming directly from my amp. I noticed that if I applied upward pressure on the on-board maxi fuses, it would stop/greatly reduce the noise. If i pushed down, it would increase. So, I'm guessing the fuses aren't making a good connection with the amp? Could I open up the amp and fix something like this (it's a HIFONICS 1606d)? Right now I ghetto rigged a piece of wood to be wedged up underneath and apply that pressure I was talking about to the fuse. Would replacing the fuses help? The only connections that appeared damaged (maybe) was a single female port that had a little gunk/slight burn mark on it.
Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
DO NOT TRY TO FIX AN AMP YOURSELF!!!
(please just trust me)
mabe just try taking the fuses out, cleaning the slots they go into, and reversing the direction they were put in!
