My girlfriends image?

my girlfriend told her friends at her job that i am 6'8" and i'm ripped and really hot
i'm really 6'2 athletic but a little lanky. i have a pretty good body. not a six pack but pretty close and a good face.
but believe it or not i'm not quite as incredible as she described.
this really brought me down. shold i try to conform to her idea of me? i mean i already work out and stuff but should i strive to be that image?
i know she didn't mean it to hurt me, but in all honesty...it really did =(

I can understand why that would be hurtful... she's describing you to her friends as if you aren't good enough for their standards, which is unfair to you, really. The appropriate thing to do would have been for her to tell it exactly like it is... but you also have to consider that girls (and guys) tend to over-exaggerate in order to gain status; sounds silly, but she probably didn't mean to hurt you. Just tell her that it upset you, and I'm sure she'll understand and discontinue. But you should NOT by any means fit to her standards, even if it is feasible. The only exception would be to lose or gain weight for health issues, or something like that. You don't owe it to anyone but yourself to look good. Anyway..
