Guitar Hero World Tour or Rock Band?

I'm stuck with which to buy. I've heard that the gameplay for Guitar Hero is better, and the 'instruments' are better too. However, I've looked at the song lists for each and I much prefer the songs for Rock Band, which I think would make it more fun. I'm aware that there will be many expansions made available for Guitar Hero (more so than Rock Band) but I'm not sure if I want to shell out even more money on getting some decent songs to play!
Any pros or cons for each or opinions which will help me to decide?
((Also, Rock Band is cheaper, which is an issue as I'm not rich or anything!))

I have both games, actually I have RB1 and 2 as well as World Tour. The instruments are all cross compatible meaning if you have a GH guitar you can use it on RB or vice versa. The great part of RB is that it has so much more download content, but they also have GH by a year in that department. I actually like RB better than GHWT, but I am also not a great player, I can play some songs (practiced really hard) on Expert for both Bass and Guitar. What I did to decrease some of the burden of pricing was just to purchase one hardware set (RB) but have the disk for the other two games. The songs from RB1 were able to be imported to RB2 (for a small fee of course) but it more than doubles the amount of songs that you can play. Each system plays about the same, if you are experienced with any other guitar hero and play on expert you will find RB to be a little less complicated but still challenging. It might be cheaper in the long run, if you have a GH guitar already to puchase just the game (RB2), the wireless drum set, and a USB microphone this should make is cheaper. Lastly about the microphone, how serious are you about singing? Is this the only reason you are getting it? You can use the Xbox microphone that you plug into the controller to sing into, although the quality is not as good but if you are considering cost this might be cheaper still and free up some $$ to purchase more songs.
