Good Functions Of Golf Irons (Ii)

In the game golf, a golfer is allowed to carry up to 14 clubs during a round. Each golf clubs was made for swing at different condition; the game of golf was played with these different types of clubs. Mostly a set of clubs may consist of 3 woods (1 driver and 2 fairway woods), golf irons for chipping (3 to 9), three wedges and a putter.

 

All the golf iron clubs are categorized into three main different types. So here I’ll introduce them to you.

 

Firstly, let me talk about short golf irons. If you require more loft in your ball's flight and the distance is less than 145 yards or less then the short irons will be best for you. It includes the irons numbered as 8, 9 and wedges also.

 

Then come out the mid golf irons. In your full set of Cleveland CG 1 Irons, the numbered 5, 6 and 7 comes under the category of mid irons. These irons have more loft than the long irons but less than that of short irons.

 

The last but not least are the long irons. These irons are used for long distances and less loft. It typically includes 3 and 4 irons. 1 and 2 irons are also comes under this category but these are very rarely used as they are very difficult to control.

 

The short irons are easier to use as compared to any other types of irons. So, if you just have bought a new set of PING Rapture Irons or other brand of irons, I’ll recommend you to start practicing with the short irons and thereafter try to use the mid and long irons. Each player has its own way to choose the club for a particular lie. Different player can choose different types of club for a particular ball position.

 

With the availability of different types of golf clubs especially golf irons for chipping; the game sometimes becomes confusing as which one to choose. The most wise thing to do in this type of situation is to start practicing with the short irons and move on to other types of clubs.
