what type of irons does a beginner need to have a complete golf club set?
a beginner would do well to purchase a set of irons ranging from pitching wedge to 4 iron. Even 4 iron might be asking a lot for a beginner to hit. With the advent of hybrid clubs, it might make sense for a beginner to get pitching wedge through 5 iron and carry 4-5 woods/hybrids. Say, a driver, 3 wood, 5, and seven. of course, all golfers should carry a sand wedge. Remember, USGA rules allow 14 clubs to a bag.
