Flex Diamana
Question on shaft flex?
ok heres the situation. I had a 73 gram x flexed diamana shaft on my current driver. I felt like i was losing control of my drives, because it was 46 inches, so i cut it down to 44 inches. Turns out I was just doing something wrong with my setup and I'm blasting the fairways again. The problem is, now i have this driver that is miss weighted and seems way too stiff for me. It started out as an x and now i think its a xx or xxx. What is the best thing for me to do? Do I just add weight to the clubhead, or is it too hard to recover the old feeling of this shaft? I just want to figure out how to get it back to an x. Thanks
There is no going back once you cut it down. Cutting a shaft down makes it stiffer. You need to get it reshafted in order to get it back to an X-stiff. Adding weight to the head will not make the shaft play any weaker. It will only lower you ball flight even more.
You can save that shaft though, if it is not a bore-thru. If the tip diameter is the same as your 3-Wood hosel, you can put it in your 3-wood.
