Adams Insight XTD Pro Driver with regular shaft question?
im looking at an Adams Insight XTD Pro Driver but it has a regular shaft i usually swing a stiff shaft and hit a fade. Any idea if this will still do the trick?
The more flexible a shaft, the higher it hits the ball. Ladies shafts flex the most, and launch the highest. Stiff and X-Stiff shafts (which are what I use), launch the lowest. The reason for this is that slower swings require a higher launch, and faster ones require a lower launch (the physics are far too complex to really explain)
Therefore the shaft stiffness is inverse to the swing speed. Slower swing = more flexible shaft, faster swing = less flexible shaft. If you play a stiff and launch it too low, then use a regular, and vice versa. What ever feels best to you means a lot too.
If you hit a fade, the XTD pro may not be the right club for you, as they are fade biased. I play the XTD A3 FW Woods, and tend to hook the ball, so they suit me well. The A3OS and A4OS are draw biased, which may help, and they are even more forgiving, which is really nice.
The XTD FW woods are very forgiving in my opinion, and I can launch them better than any other on the market. I'm not a good FW player by any means, so this is very important to me.
Also, the Adams stock shafts are softer than they are marked by about 1/2 flex.
